MY ROLE ON THE PROJECT

Editing, sound design & collaborative scene development

Developing the scenes together.

I worked with the developer, who directed the project, to shape which scenes to create and what happened in them. I then handled all trailer editing and sound design.

One cut changes the whole rhythm.

I selected and synchronized the music, picture and effects, then kept adjusting the sequence until the pace and story held together.

The world beyond the dialogue.

The recordings gave me the voices. I sourced and synchronized everything around them: footsteps, a shovel hitting earth, dropped objects, a car starting, the ambience in between.

A director’s vision, brought together.

I worked directly with the director and synchronized locally made Winnipeg music to create a complete world around the performances.

Auxesys’s focus on story, sound and creative ownership is what caught my attention. That’s the part of editing I care about most.

Fast hands. Considered cuts.

Around a decade learning Premiere, including four years professionally. Keyboard shortcuts keep repetitive work moving, leaving room for the decisions that matter.

Own the edit. Stay in sync.

I’m comfortable driving the execution and checking the direction with a client or director. I’ve also edited business, corporate and interview content.

AI for the search. Judgment for the story.

With client permission, I used AI to explore transcripts of interviews lasting 2 to 3 hours, chose the strongest moments myself, then got client sign-off before editing.

ROOM TO GROW

After Effects is a gap: I’ve only experimented with it, years ago. I’m upfront about that, and I enjoy figuring out unfamiliar tools.
